VPP – Aggregated Prosumers
Thousands of prosumer installations as one controllable asset that stabilises the grid instead of straining it.

The bieliq.pl platform aggregates data and enables remote control of thousands of prosumer installations – photovoltaics and energy storage – in real time. Distribution system operators gain the ability to actively manage the low and medium voltage grid, which prevents overloads and failures.
In an era of energy transition and the Smart Grid 2.0 concept, millions of distributed, uncoordinated energy sources are a real technical challenge for the grid.
Voltage stabilisation in the grid
Mass photovoltaic production on sunny days pushes voltage above permitted values. Aggregation makes it possible to send inverters a command to reduce active power P(U) or to start reactive power compensation Q(U).
Protection against local failures
Remotely lowering generation or forcing local storage to charge at a critical moment protects transformers from damage.
Postponing costly investment
Instead of replacing thousands of kilometres of cable and transformers, the operator manages the grid in software and distributes loads optimally.
Purchasing flexibility services
Thousands of small prosumers combine into one virtual power plant from which the operator can commercially order specific grid behaviour – for example a 2 MW reduction of exports in a chosen area and time window.
Frequently asked questions
Your question is not here? – we answer to the point, including when the answer is “this will not pay off for you”.
Does controlling a prosumer's installation require their consent?
Yes. An asset takes part in services for the operator on the basis of an agreement with the owner of the installation, which defines the scope of control and the remuneration rules. Without that consent the asset does not enter the portfolio.
Does the prosumer lose out when their generation is curtailed?
That is precisely what the settlement is for: curtailment is paid. The alternative without aggregation is the inverter switching itself off when the voltage is too high – with no compensation at all.
Why does voltage rise when the sun shines?
An installation exporting energy to the grid raises the voltage at its connection point. When several dozen installations on one line do it at once, the voltage can exceed the permitted range and inverters start shutting down.
Does this replace grid reinforcement?
Not always, but it usually postpones it and makes it possible to start where it is genuinely necessary. Control works immediately, while replacing lines and transformers takes years.
